Fashion shows and catwalk are representing genderless fashion on runaway by making men model wear skirts and dress​​. It is being addressed in a manner required to make it sound normal for every person to make the choice of what type of clothing they would want to style and wear for themselves.
Introduction
About the Trend
The inspiration taken by me for the key trend for S/S 2023 is Genderless Fashion. The current situation of the fashion industry is trying to adapt to the changes and so it will not take long for the genderless fashion to become a trend. It will be an example for freedom of choice in perspective to no gender label attached in the market.
Evolution of Fashion Industry
It is good to see the industry evolve over the years, as earlier gender inequality created a difference for individuals to get restricted to a particular trend and clothing line. Women’s were defined to wear feminine clothing like skirts and dresses whereas Men’s were defined to wear pant-suits. Due to which, these days people are getting more comfortable than how they were. Masculinity and femininity is no longer the concept of defining the clothing people want to wear anymore. Both the men and women are trying to set their own terms instead of being bounded to a specific idea, culture or region. (Lyon, 2019)
